F Trumpet

3-hole F Trumpet with baroque bell after J.W. Haas, historic model, in F 415 Hz tuning

The special version of the 3-hole trumpets for high pitches. Due to its shorter design, it can be played up to the F tunings in the 3-hole system with an F/A hole and two ventholes.

Countless musicians appreciate its use in high baroque parts such as Bach’s 2nd Brandenburg Concerto. However, it can also be used for pieces where rapid changes of tuning are required such as Mendelssohn’s Elias, in which this is only possible with a second instrument.

  • Available tunings F, E (both 440 Hz or 415 Hz) and Es (440 Hz)

The slide trumpet is a variation of the 3-hole trumpet. The crook is replaced by the slide component. In combination with different leadpipes, modern and historical C and Bb keys are possible. It is used as “Tromba da Tirarsi”, which is required in various Bach chorale preludes among others.
