Rhenus E/Eb

The soloist Instrument

With its lightness, slenderness and bouncyness the Rhenus E/Eb trumpet is the ideal  soloists instrument. Especially for the concerts of Hummel, Haydn and – the former also in the original tuning E.

It is available in E or Eb separately but also as the combined E/Eb instrument. In order to switch between E and Eb the bell as well as the 1st and 3rd slide are exchanged. Due to the bent leadpipe the bell serves as a tuning bell.

  • Hand-hammered brass bell with a diameter of 122 mm made of one-piece, wall thickness 0.45 mm
  • Mainz rim
  • Valve section in brass with air flow-optimized MAW stainless steel valves
  • Valve buttons with mother-of-pearl inserts
  • Bore: 11.5 mm
  • Tuned via tuning-bell
  • Water key on the 3rd valve slide

Galileo’s Eb trumpet is the first trumpet in this key, on which I felt comfortable right away.

Immediately the sound and the playing behavior convinced me. Of course I ordered the trumpet immediately for myself and another for my students!

The Rhenus Series

With the Rhenus, we have broken new ground in search of a universally applicable, yet characteristic timbre. The usual great intonation and responsiveness of a Galileo was combined with the wonderfully coloured and under-the-skin sound of well-known vintage models. Thus, the traditional appearance was enriched with fresh influences. New bell shapes were oriented after vintage models. This was combined with a reversed leadpipe architecture for good airflow. Turned outer slide legs give a traditional mass distribution, but without the inherent stresses of soldered flanges. The Rhenus series is the modern classic at Galileo.
