In order to come as close as possible to the sound of historical instruments, we make our replicas according to traditional methods. The use of these methods produces instruments acoustically closer to original instruments, especially where tone colour is concerned.
Key notations refer to a´= 440 Hz. Renaissance pitch was often either a semitone lower (a´= 415 Hz) or higher (a´= 466 Hz). The pitch standard of a´= 440 Hz was established much later.

- MDC
- Instrument in brass; bell entirely hand hammered; all tubing made from hammered “Nuremberg brass sheet metal“ with soldered seam according to historical examples; the garland is hand engraved and silver plated, while the ball and ferrules are also engraved and silver plated; the instrument is burnished by hand according to historical methods before it is polished; a bit brighter sounding, cleaner attacks, better cut through the orchestra even at lower volumes, historic sound and playing characteristics.

The tuning bit #V3 is necessary for all pitches and keysis necessary for all pitches and keys unless the instrument is to be played with a Renaissance mouthpiece (ex. Egger RE-1) in which case lengthening bit #6 is required.
